Helping Nepal: our approach in Dolpo

By funding the medical training of young talents from all over Dolpo, who return to Dolpo after successfully completing their training, we aim to achieve a sustainable improvement in healthcare in this often forgotten region of Nepal.

Below you will find more information about DolpoCare's approach.

"For us, it is crucial that we achieve lasting change. That is why we closely support the young talents supported by DolpoCare and ensure that they can contribute to healthcare in Dolpo as effectively and efficiently as possible once they have successfully completed their training."

How DolpoCare is improving healthcare in Dolpo

In order to create sustainable benefits and reduce dependency on the Nepalese government and non-governmental organizations, we are empowering the local population in Dolpo to provide primary healthcare themselves in the future. To this end, we have been funding the training of young Nepalese from the Dolpo region in healthcare professions since 2020. The trainee doctors and nurses will provide primary healthcare in Dolpo in the future.

As DolpoCare is an aid organization supported exclusively by volunteers, we have to proceed in small steps and only support as many students as can be effectively deployed in Dolpo after they have successfully completed their training.

Regular visits on site, close supervision of the students in health professions supported by DolpoCare and exchanges with local people and Nepalese authorities guarantee that DolpoCare's training projects will continue to meet the real needs of the inhabitants of Dolpo in the future.
